Melissa Hoisington

Founder & CEO

Anchor to Pier’s Founder and CEO, Melissa Hoisington, and her blended family of 7, call the DFW, TX area home. With two daughters of her own and 3 bonus children above ranging from ages 14-20, life is never dull and gets more exciting (and expensive!) with each passing year. Melissa considers her A2P business venture to be her most enjoyable pass time, but aside from her “work that doesn’t feel like work”, you can find her at church, occasionally reliving her glory days as a karaoke singer, dusting off her golf clubs, leaning into her OCD with a good home reno challenge, or traveling with her husband to one of their favorite vacation spots, anywhere from Florida to Colorado to California.

Meet the Founder – Melissa Hoisington

Melissa’s passion for early childhood education began in college when she realized that not everyone shared her deep adoration for children. By the age of 25, she was already living her dream—serving as the Director of her first preschool with over 150 students. That pivotal experience led her to school ownership in 2012 and set the course for a career dedicated to supporting children, families, and the professionals who serve them.

Throughout her life, Melissa has felt a strong calling to help others overcome challenges and become the best versions of themselves. Whether through parenting, mentoring, coaching, advocating, teaching, or ministering, she has consistently found ways to serve and uplift others. She passionately believes that the first five years of life are the most critical, and she dreams of a world where more people—especially those outside the childcare field—can truly understand the profound impact of early childhood experiences.

Melissa began pursuing a master’s degree in professional counseling, nearly reaching the halfway point before an unexpected family situation in 2022 required her to step away and care for a chronically ill parent. While that shift changed her immediate path, it also deepened her commitment to mental health advocacy and expanded her vision for the work she could do. Today, her passion for mental health is woven into everything she brings to Anchor to Pier, and while she may one day return to finish her degree, she continues to rely on her extensive knowledge, lived experience, and training to serve her clients with empathy and insight.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience—including over a decade advocating for the child care industry—Melissa has championed the needs of child care owners, corporate leaders, school staff, and families seeking high-quality, affordable care for their children.

Founding Anchor to Pier Inc. felt like the natural next step. It is a reflection of Melissa’s lifelong mission: to guide, empower, and inspire others while striving to leave the world just a little better than she found it.
